Dear Yuletide Author...

Hi there! I am ghostied, a fandom mostly-lurker who decided to come out of lurkdom again for Yuletide this year. :) I participated once before, in 2013, and really enjoyed myself. I'm looking forward to this year, too!

This year apparently I've decided to request all-movie canons - three of which somehow happen to be Zac Efron movies. A coincidence, I swear! (Though I do enjoy Zac Efron.) I love all four of these little movies so very much, and am really looking forward to fic about any of the four. I realize that none of my requests are totally conventional, though I don't think they're all that out there for the specific movies in question. Please take what I suggested and run with it however you like! I want you to have fun writing, after all. I am happy with any rating, from G up to E.

17 AGAIN (2009)
Mike O'Donnell | Mark Gold, Scarlett O'Donnell
"You look just like my husband! So weird."

This movie is so much cuter and funnier than I was expecting it to be when I first watched it! I love the thought of second chances, of learning lessons and winning people over against all odds. But mostly, I'm way into the relationship between Mike and Scarlett. I love the idea that she did everything to make her family work, he didn't appreciate her, and now he has to win her back - but with a de-aging twist! I'd especially like to see something about grown-up Scarlett with de-aged Mike, when she thinks he's Mark. He comes close to crossing the line with her a few times, and she's obviously pulled in by him despite her better judgment. I'd love to see them cross that line and then see what happens from there. Does he tell her right away who he is - or does he like the way she treats him when she doesn't know he's really Mike? Does he feel guilty? Does she feel guilty, give that she thinks he's seventeen? Does she secretly enjoy being with someone so much younger? I'd love some so-wrong-but-can't-stop-themselves age difference fic, be it porn or the two of them starting up some kind of secret relationship. What happens when he does reveal who he really is? Feel free to delve into some romance, some shenanigans, some porn, some kink, some guilt/moral dilemmas... whatever strikes your fancy about these two characters, I'm sure I'll eat it up with a spoon!

NEIGHBORS (2014)
Pete Regazolli, Teddy Sanders
"Bert and Ernie before Squirt and Spermy."

There is very little I like more than dudebros falling for each other, and "Neighbors" gave me plenty of fodder for that interest! I thought Teddy and Pete's friendship was great - they were clearly the best of friends, and even something like one of them hooking up with the other's girl didn't destroy their friendship. And Pete was concerned about Teddy's future! How can you not love that? I'd love to see these two after the movie ends. Where do they wind up after college? Do they get an apartment together while Pete becomes an architect and Teddy does night school? Does one of them cook breakfast in the mornings and the other do the laundry while they totally become an accidental old married couple? Or do they carry on their college-like shenanigans, only with less torture of other people? Basically I just want to see more of these two - and if you want them to fall in love, or just hook up all the time, I am totally on board. Feel free to include friends crossing the line without realizing it, gay panic, questioning sexualities, domesticity, porn, kink, romcom tropes (accidental marriage? fake dating?)... anything you want, really. As long as I get to read about dudebro bffs (who fall in love??), I'm a happy camper.

NEW YEAR'S EVE (2011)
Paul, Ingrid
"Please don’t let this whole thing be ruined because I’m a big-mouthed idiot. I’m sick and tired of being that guy."

The best part about "New Year's Eve" is, if you ask me, the storyline between Ingrid and Paul. I love that he stuck by her and helped her finish all her resolutions, showing her how to take chances and be brave. I love that she told him off when he was being a jerk and helped him learn to have compassion for people and not write off others who are weird or different. And I just want more of them! Hell, he gives her a New Year's kiss and then takes her to the big fancy party at the end of the movie. I'd love to see what's beyond that for them. Do they go their separate ways, only to run into one another next New Year's Eve? Do they keep in touch and develop some sort of so-wrong-it's-right Mrs Robinson-esque relationship? Do they stay out all night and see New Year's Day together? (Or do they stay in and greet the new year in bed?) What do his friends (ie Ashton's character) think of his relationship with her? What do her friends think? Honestly, anything more for the two of them beyond the end of the movie would make me super happy. I'm all for romance, porn, kink, domesticity, unrequited feelings, pining, awkwardness, romcom tropes, and angst - whatever you're up for with this adorable age difference couple, I'm into!

PEOPLE LIKE US (2012)
Frankie, Sam
"I swear to you on my life that I will never hit on you. Ever."

I absolutely love "People Like Us" - I love that it takes what is sort of a fairly conventional, predictable storyline and keeps it fresh and exciting through the characters' reactions and dynamics. I think Frankie and Sam are fantastic, and damn it if I didn't come out of the movie shipping them - even though they're half siblings. So please, if you're comfortable with it, ship them for me! Sam knows that they're siblings from the outset, but Frankie doesn't - how does he handle the guilt he feels when they start falling for each other? What if Frankie decides she still wants to pursue a relationship with Sam after she finds out who he really is? I'd really love to see Sam, Frankie, and Josh as a weird little family (though whether they decide to let Josh know that they're related is completely up to you - just no parent/child incest, please!). Feel free to go a little darker with this if you'd like to, with Sam's guilt at hooking the two of them up all while knowing they're related, or some we-shouldn't-but-we-can't-help-ourselves codependency, or kinking on the incest or even Sam's infidelity (since he's with Hannah). You totally don't have to go dark, though, or even incesty if you aren't comfortable with that. I'll always enjoy and never say no to found family fic where Sam helps Frankie to raise Josh as the most awesome uncle ever! I really do just want fic for this movie to exist, period. But if you watched the movie and shipped Sam and Frankie regardless (or because!) of them being siblings, then all aboard the incest train, as far as I'm concerned!
